My Teaching Philosophy
My teaching philosophy is to create a warm classroom where students feel safe and welcome. With the use of technology and UDL I will have a classroom that the students will want to come to, to learn new things. The UDL Center explains why technology is needed in a classroom. With the use of proper technology, engagement will follow which is a big part of UDL. Technology is used all the time and knowing how to adapt it into the classroom is important. Impact I expect technology to have an impact on my learners because it will be something new that they may not have done before and it will help excite them in learning. I want to teach my students many skills that they can take into the World and technology use is a good life lesson to learn. This will impact me as a teacher because I will be looking for fun ways to teach a lesson while also making sure that my students are learning. I think that technology will help with learning because it will engage everyone, if I am excited about the lesson then my students will be too. ![]() Teaching Style I will also teach with a mixture of cognitivism and connectivism way to allow for peer interactions, technology use and to stay student focused. The graphic above shows four teaching styles and what each of them are. I think that it is important to be a student centered teacher and always remember the student when planning and not the other way around. A great idea will only work when it is focused around the learners and not the lesson. ISTE has a good web page that explains the importance of student-centered learning. |
